In 2016, Pedro Lucas's development took a pivotal turn when his father, Rodrigo Ribeiro, founded a grassroots training collective called Garagem Jiu-Jitsu — a tight-knit workgroup that operated, true to its name, out of a garage. Far from a conventional academy environment, Garagem Jiu-Jitsu became the central hub of Pedro Lucas's formative competitive years, fostering the technical identity and competitive mindset that would define his game.
Alongside this family-driven project, Pedro Lucas forged a strong affiliation with the CT Honorio squad under Honorio Filho, representing the team in local competitions and absorbing coaching influences that would later be honored in a formal ceremony. In 2021, Alexandre Carreira and Davi Ramos invited him to join their Atos affiliate based in Rio de Janeiro — an opportunity Pedro Lucas accepted, gaining access to a high-performance structure that complemented the foundation built at Garagem Jiu-Jitsu.
On February 16, 2022, Pedro Lucas received his black belt in a ceremony that carried deep personal significance. The belt was awarded jointly by Honorio Filho and his father, Rodrigo Ribeiro, a gesture that honored both the competitive lineage and the family bonds at the heart of his journey.
