Under the tutelage of Guto and Guilherme Campos, Pablo demonstrated competitive potential from an early age. His first significant national result came in 2009, when he claimed second place at the Brazilian Nationals as an orange belt — a remarkable showing for a competitor still in his early teens.
As Pablo advanced through the colored belt divisions, his results grew steadily more impressive. At blue belt, he captured the IBJJF World Championship title in 2014, establishing himself as one of the premier young competitors in his weight class. The following year, at purple belt, he claimed gold at the IBJJF Pan Championship and won the UAEJJF Brazil National Pro, demonstrating consistency across multiple competition formats.
The brown belt years brought Pablo's most concentrated period of pre-black belt success. In 2016, he won the IBJJF World No-Gi Championship, and in 2017 he returned to claim the IBJJF Pan Championship title once more. He also captured the UAEJJF Abu Dhabi World Pro crown in 2017, proving his ability to perform on international stages across both gi and no-gi formats. The crowning moment of his colored belt career arrived in June 2017 at the IBJJF World Championship, where Guilherme and Guto Campos — the same instructors who had first taught him the art more than a decade earlier — placed his black belt around his neck at the podium.
