Mason Fowler and Nick Rodriguez have met twice on record, and neither man has separated himself. Rodriguez took the first meeting at UFC Fight Pass Invitational 7 in 2024 on points, and their 2026 rematch at UFC BJJ 11, a title match, ended in a draw. So the head-to-head sits at 1 win for Rodriguez, 0 for Fowler, and 1 draw. Both matches were nogi.

The styles come from different places. Fowler is a Caio Terra Association product with a broad grappling base and an 83% win rate over 63 recorded matches, finishing 56% of his wins. Rodriguez comes from a wrestling background, competing at Ferrum College before moving to jiu-jitsu, and carries a 69% win rate over 78 recorded matches with a 46% submission rate on his wins. Both men count the Rear Naked Choke as their most frequent finish, with 6 for Fowler and 17 for Rodriguez.

What has decided their two meetings is margin rather than the finish. Neither man submitted the other. Rodriguez won on points the first time, and the rematch could not be separated at all. On the record here, this is a close rivalry that has yet to produce a clean result.
