International Reach and Military Instruction
Following his years as an active competitor, Huanderson Pavão built a coaching career spanning multiple continents and reaching audiences ranging from elite grapplers to military personnel. A 5th degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from GFTeam, his rank reflects not only technical mastery but decades of contribution to the sport at every level.
His international work brought him to the United States, where he served as an instructor at the Carlson Gracie academy in Texas, invited by André "Tim" Monteiro. During that period, he conducted workshops in Houston and led a seminar with the US Army — an engagement that demonstrated both the breadth of his instructional reach and his ability to adapt his teaching methodology to non-traditional audiences.
European Expansion and Return to GFTeam
Pavão's connection to Europe proved equally significant. He lived in London, England, using the city as a base from which to build a robust seminar circuit across multiple European countries. His European work was deliberate and sustained — a genuine effort to grow the sport internationally that established lasting relationships with athletes and academies throughout the continent.
Upon returning to Brazil, Pavão resumed full-time coaching at the GFTeam Training Center, where he serves as a central figure in the organization's growth on both national and international stages. His work at GFTeam placed him alongside prominent athletes including Ricardo Evangelista, Rodolfo Vieira, and Denilson Pimenta, contributing to one of the most competitive team environments in modern BJJ.
To facilitate his global outreach, Pavão launched www.pavaobjj.com — a platform designed to connect him with international athletes, share his seminar schedule, and serve as a point of contact for training groups worldwide. His seminars span both gi and no-gi methodologies and are tailored specifically to the needs and objectives of each group, a reflection of the same adaptability that has defined his career from its earliest days on the Luta Livre mats.
