Tayane's ascent through the competitive ranks was nothing short of extraordinary. In 2015, she announced herself to the international grappling community in emphatic fashion, sweeping the IBJJF Grand Slam at purple belt — capturing gold at the IBJJF World Championship, the Pan American Championship, the European Open, and the Brazilian Nationals, in both her weight category and the absolute division. Few competitors at any belt level had accomplished that feat, and it signaled the arrival of a formidable talent.
Her dominance carried into the brown belt division in 2016, where she claimed double gold at the European Open and the UAEJJF Abu Dhabi World Pro in both weight and absolute. That same year brought a distinction reserved for only the most exceptional athletes: Tayane received her black belt directly on the podium of the IBJJF World Championship in June 2016 — a rare and prestigious honor reflecting both her competitive excellence and the confidence her coaches placed in her.
The transition to black belt competition did nothing to slow her momentum. In 2017, Tayane won the IBJJF World Championship in both her weight division and the absolute, a remarkable debut at the sport's highest level. She repeated the double world title performance in 2018, cementing her status as the preeminent female super-heavyweight competitor in international jiu-jitsu.
