As Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu's international expansion accelerated through the 2000s, a broad wave of competitors and coaches from Gracie Humaita relocated abroad. When Royler Gracie moved to San Diego in 2010, Rolker made a deliberate choice to remain in Rio de Janeiro and continue leading the historic academy at its original home.
That decision proved critical. While much of the talent cultivated within Gracie Humaita dispersed across the globe, Rolker's steady presence preserved the academy's institutional identity and maintained an unbroken link to its founding legacy. From the Rio headquarters, he continued developing world champions and top competitors, sustaining the competitive and technical standards that have defined the team across generations.
