Competitive Record and Credentials
Competing at the black belt level in the Senior and Master divisions, Julio Cesar claimed two World Championship titles alongside an exceptional 21 State Championship titles — a record that reflects both sustained excellence and remarkable longevity in competition. He competes in the Peso Leve (lightweight) division, and by the time of his international expansion, held the rank of 7th-degree coral belt in BJJ — a designation earned through decades of contribution to the art at the highest level.
A New Chapter in North America
In 2018, Julio Cesar relocated to Orange County, California, extending Grappling Fight Team's reach into one of the world's most active BJJ markets. The move established a new North American base while reinforcing his ongoing representation of Brazil and the Oswaldo Fadda tradition on the international stage.
His career traces a path from the working-class mats of Rio de Janeiro, through the institution-building years at Gama Filho, across the community-driven mission of Cachanga, and into a new chapter of global expansion. As a competitor, academy builder, social advocate, and standard-bearer of the Fadda lineage, Julio Cesar Pereira's influence on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu spans disciplines, generations, and continents.
