Ash Grimshaw vs Marco Canha

Marco Canha, a 36-year-old veteran, controlled Ash Grimshaw from start to finish at Polaris 6. Aware of Grimshaw's wrestling and guillotine game, Canha chose to pull guard and sweep, keeping the MMA and grappling competitor from ever finding the space to return to his feet. Canha's leg game and underhook control were central to maintaining that dominance throughout the match.

With more of a top game and limited guard offense against the Brazilian, Grimshaw was repeatedly subjected to Canha's guard passes and mount controls. To his credit, Grimshaw never gave up his back, something that appeared to be a clear objective for the Checkmat and FightZone London team leader. Canha took the match cleanly across the board.
