Lachlan Giles and Marcelo Garcia met at ONE FN 38 in a match that played out over more than seven minutes. Giles spent much of the bout baiting leg entries and using K guard and leg entanglements to neutralize Garcia's pressure game.

From a De La Riva hook, Giles rotated into a finishing position that combined kneebar mechanics with a twisted heel, a submission known as the Lachlan Lock, forcing Garcia to tap. Following the match, Giles announced that this was his final competitive bout and retired from competition.
