The collar sleeve omoplata is a shoulder lock executed from collar sleeve guard by swinging the leg over the opponent's trapped arm and rotating to pin their shoulder. It is used when the opponent postures low or drives forward, allowing the guard player to exploit the controlled sleeve-side arm.

Execution

  1. 1 From collar sleeve guard, pull the collar grip to break posture while keeping the sleeve-side arm fully extended and controlled.
  2. 2 Place your sleeve-side foot on their bicep, hip out hard to that same side, and swing your collar-side leg over their head and across their back.
  3. 3 Release the collar grip, triangling or hooking the leg across their back, and begin sitting up perpendicular to them while maintaining sleeve control.
  4. 4 Grab their far hip or belt to block the forward roll, scoot your hips tight against their shoulder, and lean forward over their back to finish the shoulder lock.
