Arm Weave Pass
Pass
Also known as:
Crazy Dog
Crazy Dog Pass
Passing by weaving your arm through the opponent's legs and pinning it to the mat or their far hip — collapses knee shield and reverse De La Riva structures by taking their bottom leg out of the fight, then long-stepping or sliding through.
Quick Reference
Key principles
- · The woven arm turns their guard leg into your handle
- · Weight through the weave pins their hips flat
- · The pass finishes with a long step or slide while the legs are dead
Execution
- 1 Against knee shield or RDLR, thread your arm under and through their legs
- 2 Pin the woven grip to the mat or their far hip
- 3 Drop your weight through the connection to flatten their hips
- 4 Long step or slide the trapped-leg side and settle chest-to-chest
Common mistakes
- × Weaving shallow so the leg slips free mid-pass
- × Standing tall over the weave, giving up the underhook sweep
