Meyram Maquine vs Cleber Sousa

Meyram Maquine and Cleber Sousa met at 2020 BJJ Stars in a matchup representing two of São Paulo's top academies, Guigo JJ and Almeida JJ. Maquine came out with strong offensive movement from a passing stance early in the match, and Sousa, a 2019 Pan and Brazilian champion, had difficulty controlling the 19-year-old's output from the bottom.

With 90 seconds remaining and trailing by 4 points, Sousa opted to pull 50-50 guard. He was able to add points to the scoreboard from there, but not enough to close the gap and take the win.
