Did you know?
- Across 49 recorded matchups at the 2025 ADCC Miami Open, 51 percent ended in submission. That is a high finishing rate for an ADCC ruleset event, where the point structure often rewards patient positional play.
- Of the recorded victory methods, 25 came by submission and 15 by points. Notably, 7 finished by DQ, which is worth keeping in mind when you read the bracket results.
- Estevan Martinez-Garcia went 3 wins with 3 submission wins on record at the event, meaning every one of his recorded victories came by finish rather than by riding out a points lead.
- Estevan Martinez-Garcia beat Julien Moreno by submission in the -60kgs Semi-Finals, then submitted Joey Diehl in the -60kgs Final. Moreno bounced back to take the 3rd Place Match by submission over Joseph Snyder.
- Both Hayden Buckner and Joey Diehl posted 2 wins with 1 submission win each, so half their recorded wins came by finish and half went to the scoreboard. Diehl's points win over Matthew Velez in the -60kgs Semi-Finals is a good example of that second gear.
